This glossary contains terms and definitions that are used in HRMS User Procedures. It provides brief descriptions of commonly used words in the HRMS environment.

Term Base Definition
1st Program Grouping This is used to determine an employee’s retirement plan eligibility.
2nd address line This is an additional line for address information, such as apartment number. This field is 40 characters long.
2nd Program Grouping This defines the employee's job type and employer.

A/A Type This is the reason for scheduled and actual absences for an employee.
Absence It is a time period during an employee’s planned working time in which the employee does not work, including certain types of leave. It represents a deviation in an employee’s personal work schedule.
Absence Quota It is an employee’s entitlement to a certain absence. It is the amount of time allowed for an employee to be absent from work.
Absence type It is a specific absence quota, such as Annual Leave or Sick Leave.
Account Assignment This specifies which accounts to post to from a business transaction.
Account ID This ID together with the ID for the house bank uniquely defines a bank account.
Accrual  It is the amount of quota earned each period based on the employee's length of service and time worked.
Action  This groups infotypes according to the type of action you are performing. The personnel actions menu will identify the action type to process such as new hire, appointment change, separation, etc.
Activity It is specific tasks or steps required to support a business process, such as hiring an employee or recording time.
Activity Category  Activities are subdivided into categories, which are a technical grouping of similar activities. Depending on the category, the activities have different characteristics (i.e.-simple activity, correspondence activity).
Activity Type  Activities in a category are subdivided into different activity types (i.e.-correspondence activities: invitation, rejection, confirmation).
Actual Time This is the actual number of hours the employee worked regardless of his work schedule.
Add. withholding  This is an amount designated by the employee to be withheld from his/her check above the amount that will be taken due to filing status.
Additional payments This is the name of an infotype (IT0015) used to store one-time payments to an employee or create one-time deductions from an employee's pay.
Additional Personnel Time Specifications This is an activity that includes the transfer of important HRMS data to external systems.
Additional Time ID The indicator of how employee leave will accrue. Enter: 00 for full normal leave accrual (will default to normal if field is left blank). 01 for NO leave accrual and 02 for sick leave accrual.
AFRS Allocation This is mapped to the AFRS Allocation Code and is equivalent to AFRS agency code + AFRS project + AFRS subproject + AFRS project phase.
AFRS Project This is mapped to the AFRS Project Structure.
Agency Financial Reporting System (AFRS) This is a computerized system controlled by the Office of Financial Management (OFM) to allow the recording of information by pre-authorized users to establish the processing of warrants during a specified time frame.
Allowances This is the number of dependents claimed for tax filing purposes. It affects the amount of taxes withheld from an employee's paycheck.
ALAS  Automated Liability Apportionment Solution (ALAS) program.
Amount  It is the total dollar value of a wage type.
Analytics  E-Recruiting reporting. For example: Requisition Status Report.
Anniversary Date  This is a date type in HRMS defined as the original date into state service as adjusted by leave without pay or a break in service.
Annual salary This is the dollar amount that the employee receives as pay per year.
Assign/Assignment  This is an additional task or responsibility assigned to an employee for which they are compensated based on the hours worked.
Assignment pay  This is additional money that an employee may earn for duties that are considered hazardous, require the use of two languages, etc.
Attendance  This is a period when an employee is actively at work and should be compensated.
Attendance quota  This is an employee’s entitlement to a certain attendance. It is the amount of time allowed for an employee to spend on a certain task or activity at work.
Attendance type  This is used to record various activities, tasks, or type of work being performed, such as overtime, on call, or training.
Attendance wage type This is the grouping of employee's scheduled attendances and actual attendances typically based on the reason for the attendance.
Attributes Information that defines the Organizational Unit, position or job.
Automated Clearinghouse (ACH) This is a computerized, automated mechanism in which direct deposit files are created.
Automated List Viewer (ALV) Allows user to modify the display of data to fit their needs.

Bank Account Number  This field contains the number under which the account is managed at the bank.
Bank Control Key  This is a key that uniformly identifies a bank in the system.
Bank name This is the name of the bank where the employee wishes to have their pay deposited.
Base pay This is an employee's regular pay before any assignment pay or incentive pay is added.
Batch reports  This is a group of reports generated at the same time on a scheduled basis as one unit and available for on-line viewing.
Benefit area This is the highest-level subdivision of benefits data which allows different pools of benefit plans to be administered separately. The State of Washington will only utilize one benefit area.
Benefit plan This is a specific benefit offered by the company with defined providers, benefit levels, and payments.
Bond deduction amt. This is the amount to be deducted each time the bond wage type is processed in payroll.
Bond denomination This is used to hold the value of the bonds at maturity.
Bond series These are types of savings bonds issued by the U.S. Treasury Department.
Branch/Sub-Agency Select the company whose branches you want to display. Example: DSHS, Region 4, Division of Developmental Disabilities.
Business Area  A specific agency in the State of Washington. This is associated with each Employer Identification Number (EIN).
C Top 
Case no.  This is the ID number of the garnishment document case.
 Certificate This is the type of leaving certificate (e.g. high school diploma, university degree) the employee or applicant has acquired at a given institution.
Change Action This is the act of changing information on an infotype. It is a record that is changed but does not retain previous data values.
City This is the specific city in which the employee resides or works depending on the usage.
Command Field  The command field is a special input field in the SAP system in which the user can enter typed commands, usually transaction codes, to go directly to a transaction or function.
Communication Data  Details on how to contact a candidate (i.e. - phone number, e-mail, address).
Company Code  It is an organizational unit within financial accounting. It will be WA01 for all agencies.
Configured report  This is a standard HRMS report with user-defined variants.
Contract The status of the appointment. Examples - Probation, Exempt, Non-Perm limited.
Contract type It defines an employee's State status as either permanent or non-permanent.
Copy Action It is the act of creating a new infotype record using the previous record as a basis.
Cost Assignment  This refers to how an employee is funded.
Cost center An object in HRMS that represents a defined location of cost incurrence. Example:  Organizational Index.
Cost Object This is used to represent any object to which you can assign or attribute personnel-related costs.
Country  Country will be the USA for all HRMS actions.
County code This is the code used to define the country in which the employee resides or works.
Create Action This is the act of creating a new infotype record without bringing forward information from a previous record. All data fields, other than default information, must be completed with new information.
Cross Application Time Sheet (CATS)   This is the transaction used for recording attendances and absences. Data loaded in CATS may subsequently be used in several applications, thus the cross application functionality.
Current Period It is the most recent pay period that has not been paid yet and will be paid during the next payroll run.
Customized report  This is a state-developed custom report.

Data cleansing This is the act of verifying and modifying the data in the legacy system prior to converting it into the HRMS.
Date This is either the current date or a date that must be entered into the system to store a record.
Date entered This is either the current date or a date that must be entered into the system to store a record).
Date Learned  This is the date that the employer learned of Disability Status.
Date of Birth  This is the basic value used to calculate a person's age.
Date of origin   This is a field on Additional Payments infotype used to record the date on which the payment or deduction is effective. The payment or deduction will be processed in the pay period during which the date of origin falls.
Date of Task  This is the date on which the task needs to be completed.
 Date Type Defines the meaning of a particular date.
Deduction From This is the date on which the deduction record should begin, or be effective.
Deduction To  This is the date on which the deduction record should end, or cease being effective.
Deduction Value Regular deduction amount to be taken from employee wages to retire employee garnishment debt.
Deductions Pre-Tax   These are deductions which are calculated and deducted from an employee's pay prior to taxes being calculated. This normally serves to reduce an employee's taxable income.
Delimit This involves setting an end date for a record when it will no longer be valid. Delimited records are retained as an historical account.
Demotion This is a downgrade from an employee’s current job level.   It can be within the same agency or between different agencies.
Department This indicates whether or not the organizational unit is a department of staff. Note: This pertains to the Department/Staff infotype on the Organizational Unit. You will always check Department.
Dependent Coverage  This is the type of family composition covered by a medical plan.
Description This is a field that defines specific attributes of a position or/and organizational unit.
Disability Date  This is a date of Determination of Disability Status.
E  Top  
Earl. Pers. RA Date   Defines the date in the payroll past, up to which master and time data changes are allowed, as well as the date up to which the system carries out retroactive account. Example: An employee is rehired on 3/10/2009. The date would be 3/1/2009 (or the first day of the payroll period). 
Education/training This is the type of education and/or training the employee/applicant has acquired at a given educational institution.
Educational est. This is the type of educational institution (e.g. high school, business school, university) the employee/applicant has attended.
EE subgroup A sub-division of Employee Group which defines work period designation and salary rate unit.
EEO Category This is a job attribute that groups jobs into specific pre-defined categories according to type of work performed.
Effective Date This is the date in which data on the infotype becomes valid. It is based upon a valid start date and valid delimit date.
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) This is a direct deposit payment method via ACH.
Employee group Status of an employee or position within the State of Washington. Note: This is the status of the position only, not the employee.
Employee Master Data This is essential personnel information that includes personal and organizational data which is unique to each employee. It is entered only once into HRMS and updated as needed.
Employee Override group This is the Worker's Compensation code that an employee holds for a particular job.
Employee Profile  Information containing an employee’s personal addresses information, emergency contact information, qualifications and earnings information.
Employee Subgroup   This is within an employee group for which personnel provisions have been defined. Employee sub-group defines employees who are processed according to similar payroll or time rules.
Employer This is a current state employee's other employer or previous employer if an Agency decides to track this type of information within HRMS.
Employment percent This signifies the amount of time that an employee works per week in a particular position and is described in.
End  This is the end date of a record.
Ethnic origin This field allows you to group employees by ethnic origin. It is used in  countries which require this type of reporting by law.
Exit This is a button on the SAP GUI that allows the user to move up to a higher level within the menu path.

Favorite   A Favorite is an item you wish to access in one step instead of by navigating to it through a menu path. You can add a Favorite to your Favorites folder using one of several methods.
Federal Tax ID The employer identification number (EIN) assigned by the tax authority.
Field   In general, a field can be any data object, field symbol, or formal parameter on a screen. Fields typically contain single data elements or require the input of information.
Filing Date The actual calendar date that quarterly forms were sent to the IRS.
Filing Status  This is a status elected by the employee for federal tax withholding.
First name  This is the legal first name of an employee as indicated on the social security card.
Forced retro accounting as of This is a date field which allows the user to define a past date to which    payroll will go back and recalculate pay.
For-period The prior period that was processed in the current payroll because of retro calculations in that period.
Form 941 Form that is used to report earnings, non taxable income, Federal Income Tax withheld and wages subject to Social Security and Medicare for the quarter.
Form 941x Form used to make corrections on a previously filed Form 941.
Form 941-Schedule B Form  that is used to report tax liabilities per pay date.
From  The effective date of the action.
Functional area This is a specific area of State of Washington that is organized according to aspects of personnel, time management, and payroll.
Fund  This is used to represent the AFRS Funding Source.

Grievance number This field holds a number assigned to this particular grievance.
Grievance status This field defines the status of the grievance, as defined by the State.

Health Plan Opt   This is a further selection of the health plan; the options lets you further define levels of coverage within the plan. The State will only have one health plan option for each health plan.
Hiring Manager Represents supervisors, managers, or division managers who initiate the recruitment process by creating a requisition.
HRMS Human Resource Management System is an industry term for an all-agency or all-enterprise personnel and payroll software.
I Top 
Icon   An icon is a pictorial representation of an object or function. When you click an icon, the system typically performs an action and frequently displays another screen.
ID number  This is the system-assigned number of an organizational object.
ID of Related Object This is the system-assigned number of the associated object to which the original object is related. Use the (Matchcode) and perform a Structure Search if you do not know the original Object ID.
ID type This field describes the type of document that the employee presents to establish personal identity.
Infotype This is a screen that is used to enter employee information and to group related data fields together. It provides audit trails and data for reports and history.
Infotype - Direct selection   There are three ways to select an infotype from the infotype maintenance screen. One way is by typing the name or number of the infotype in the direct selection field and then choosing an operation.
Initial Balance This is the beginning balance on the garnishment.
In-period The current payroll period.
Institute/location This is the name of educational institution attended.
Insurance Option   This is a further selection of the insurance plan; the options let you further define levels of coverage within the plan. The State will only have one insurance plan option for each health plan.
Interest Group Group of candidates who share common characteristics. Each candidate assigns himself or herself an interest group (i.e. Human Resources, Engineering, and Accounting).
Interface  This is a program used to send data between the HRMS and an external system.
Internal Candidate Person who is currently employed in the company or active in HRMS who is interested in a different job.
In-training This is the status assigned to the position or person to denote that the position is a training position or the person is new to the position and is in training.
Issuing Authority This is the governmental authority responsible for issuing an employee's work permit.
Issuing date  This is the date on which the work permit was issued.

Job This is similar to today's job class. It is generic in nature; contains attributes used to create specific positions when drafting an organizational plan.
Job name This is the name of the report that was run in the background or as a batch job.
Jurisdiction This is the state in which the person is employed.
Top 
Key Date This is the date on which a search for information is being performed. The key date can be one day or a period.

Last name  This is the legal last name of an employee as indicated on the social security card.
Lateral Transfer This is the movement of an employee in which no change in job level has occurred. It can be within the same agency or between different agencies.
Lead/follow-up time  This is the amount of time to be notified in advance or after an event has occurred.
Leave This is a time period during an employee's planned working time in which the employee does not work.
Leave Quota It is an employee’s entitlement to a certain absence. It is the amount of time allowed for an employee to be absent from work.
Level  This defines the step within a range for compensation.

MainPersNo When two personnel numbers exist, this field contains the personnel number of the home agency
Manual check process This is a type of off-cycle payroll processing in which warrants are paid from an external system but recovered within HRMS.
Manual compensation In special circumstances, when employees have to be compensated for their Leave Quota, manual compensation are used to pay them off with special wage types using free compensation method '1000' in Infotype 0416.
Marital status  This is the marital status of the employee, i.e.. single, married, divorced, etc.
Mass Processing Menu in which activities can be created simultaneously for multiple candidates
Master Data This is essential personnel information that includes personal and organizational data which is unique to each employee.
Membership Fee  This is the amount to be paid for the employee's association.
Membership type This is the name of the employee's association/organization.
Military status This indicates the branch of service the employee served/serves in.
Modified report This is a slightly customized HRMS standard report.
Module  A module is a group of related applications, for example, Human Resources (HR). These applications are composed of a series of transactions.
MU  This is the unit in which an object is measured.

Name  This is the full name of the employee.
Name of co-owner This is the name of another bond owner.
Negative time recording
(salaried employees)
Recording only exceptions (i.e. annual leave, overtime) to a salaried employees work schedule.
Next increase  This is the date of the next scheduled increase in the employee's pay. This is also known as the periodic increment date.
No. to compensate  This allows the user to enter the number of hours or days of a quota type to be paid out to an employee.

Object An individual element of information which exists in HRMS. Example: Organizational units, jobs, positions, cost centers.
Object abbr  This is a short text field used to define an object.
 Object ID This is the system-assigned number of an object type.
Object name  This is the long text description of the object.
Object Type This is a type of object, such as position, job, or organization unit.
Objects on Loan  This allows for an agency to track specific State-owned assets that have been loaned to an employee. It is currently used by WSP to track badge numbers.
Off-cycle payroll  This is a payroll run that is not part of the normal cycle (i.e.. Paid on the 10th or 25th). Also refers to payroll processes needed to correct a check or perform a reversal.
Off-cycle reversal  This a payroll process in which employee warrants or direct deposit payments are cancelled because of errors or discrepancies.
Off-cycle workbench It is an HRMS component used to process off-cycle reversals for warrants and ACH files.
Office/region  It is a field that holds the State in which the employee resides.
Operational Reporting Reports required for the daily/weekly activities of the recruiter.
Organizational management Process used to create and maintain organizational structures and their associated organizational units, positions, and jobs in HRMS.
Organizational relationships Describes how organizational management objects are related to each other.
Organizational structure  Made up of Organizational Units, Positions, Jobs, People, and Cost Centers and how they relate to each other to form a hierarchical structure.
Organizational Unit  Represents departments, regions, divisions, units or other groupings within an Agency.
Org. key  The pay distribution location.
Other Period This is a selection option that allows the user to run a report, execute a transaction, or run a program for a specific pay period.
Override amount It allows the user to enter an alternative amount.
Overtime  This is any hours worked over and above an employee's planned working time as defined by his or her work schedule.

Parent/child relationship This describes the hierarchical nature of organizational objects.
Password A password is a sequence of letters, digits, or special characters that the user must enter, along with a user name, to gain access to the system and will expire every 90 days.
Pay cycle cutoff This is a period of time in which agencies need to finalize the input and correction of master data and payroll calculation errors prior to the release and start of payroll.
Pay cycle timeline This is a period of time in each payroll cycle in which payroll has been released, started, and completed.
Pay Scale Area  This identifies a collection of pay ranges, steps, and rates that comprise a pay schedule based on the Merit System rules for the State of Washington.
Pay Scale Group  A range or band.
Pay Scale type Represents the State of Washington’s compensation structure (salary bands, hour based step increases, and bargaining units).
Paying Company Code  The company code in which the payment was processed.
Payment method  This is the manner in which an employee is compensated, either by warrant or direct deposit.
Payment model This is a pre-defined schedule for taking a deduction or making a payment, such as monthly, semi-monthly, etc.
Payroll  This is the calculation of the remuneration, tax amounts, insurance amounts, and other pay and deductions of an employee for a particular period.
Payroll area A payroll area groups and designates the employees whose payroll is run on the same date.  Payroll Area 11 is the default for the State of Washington. Payroll Area 10 is the default for the Board of Volunteer Firefighters only.
Payroll control record  This is a summary of administrative functions for a payroll area. The payroll control determines the status of each pay period, allowing for records to be locked during payroll calculation and open for data entry at other times.
Payroll Infotype   This screen is used to enter employee payroll master data and to group related data fields together. It provides an audit trail and data for payroll related reports and history.
Payroll results It is a compilation of all the payroll calculations that resulted in remuneration statements and warrants produced from the centralized payroll process. It lists both employee master data and an employee’s payment information.
Payroll results table  This is an HRMS log that is used by agencies to view the payroll results for a specified payroll run.
PCode This is the 5 or 9 digit zip code.
PCode/City This is the 5 or 9 digit zip code and city the employees resides in.
Percentage This is a field used to store a percentage amount.
Period This is the pay period for which the report, transaction, or program is being run.
Personal Settings Menu is which a user can tailor his pages to suit his personal requirements. This includes defining his preferred date format, decimal display, the language he prefers to communicate in, and the display format for data overviews.
Personnel Number  An employee's unique identifying number.
Personnel Action This groups infotypes according to business needs. The personnel actions menu will identify the action type to process such as new hire, appointment change, separation, etc.
Personnel Area A specific agency/sub-agency in the State of Washington.
Personnel Structure This divides the organization administratively.
Personnel Subarea  A subdivision of Personnel Area that identifies Bargaining Units, WMS, Exempt and non-Represented positions.
Personnel Sub-group The personnel subgroup denotes whether an employee is hourly, monthly, daily, and whether they are scheduled, non-scheduled or exception time reporters. In today's current PAY1 system, these values are reflective of what is the Work Period Designation and Salary Rate Unit.
Personnel Time Evaluation  This is a module in Human Resources that processes time entries and creates wage types to be paid in payroll. It also provides other calculations of time data.
Personnel Time Recording  This is an activity that is triggered when a pay period begins or future leave is requested. This includes time entry into HRMS.
Petty cash  It is a fund in which an agency can allocate cash for different purposes (i.e. manual checks).
Plan type  This is a high-level grouping of Benefit Plans.
Planning Status  This is the status of a Benefit Plan, such as open for enrollment or closed for new enrollees.
Pool ID  For employees to be eligible to donate/receive shared leave, each should be assigned to a Pool ID. In the SOW scenario, it will be Home Pool ID.
Position This is a specific and concrete description of the responsibilities that one individual fulfills in an organization. Each employee in HRMS is assigned to a position, which contains information about where the employee fits in the organization.
Position #  This is a system-assigned number given to a particular position. Each unique position will have its own position number.
Positive time recording
(hourly employees)
Recording all hours worked as well as all absences during the pay period.
Postal code / city This is the 5 or 9 digit zip code and city the employees resides in.
Priority This establishes the order in which a like garnishment will be deducted from payroll.
Probationary  This is the review period of a new hire or rehired employee where work performance is observed against expectations of the position.
Probationary period  This denotes how long an employee is in non-permanent State status. This is stored in the Contract field on the Contract Elements Infotype.
Process It is a high-level business function, such as payroll or personnel administration
Processing indicator  "This is used to signify if a task entered in the Monitoring of Tasks infotype is new, and in process.
Promotion This is an upgrade from an employee’s current job level. It can be within the same agency or between different agencies.
PS level  The Pay Scale Level is the step within a range for compensation.
PS Reclassification Type This term defines how an employee will get reclassified within the HRMS. Permissible reclassification types occur as a result of the next increase date on IT0008 - Basic Pay or group membership duration which is a table configured in the background and reclassifies employees based on State standard progression rules.
Q Top 
Quota Accrual The rate at which an employee accrues leave. The accrual rate is based upon the employees years of service an any collective bargaining agreements.
Quota number  This specifies the number of hours or days of quota that an employee has earned.
Quota Types Different categories of quota balance.
Top
Reason  This is a specific reason for performing an action or maintaining an infotype.
Reason for Action  It stores the reason that an action has been performed.
Reason for Change  It stores the reason that a change has been made.
Reason for Change to Basic Pay  It stores the reason that a change has been made to basic pay.
Reason for Payroll  It stores the reason that a payroll run has been processed. Not required for all payroll runs.
Rec. CCtr  "Signifies the receiver cost center and is equivalent to the AFRS agency code + AFRS Org"
Rec.FundAr  "Signifies the receiving function area and is equivalent to the AFRS agency code + AFRS"
RecCostObj  "Signifies the receiver cost object and is equivalent to the AFRS agency code + AFRS master"
Received  This is the date the garnishment is entered into HRMS.
RecFund  "Signifies the receiver fund and is equivalent to AFRS + AFRS Appropriation Index + AFRS"
Reference pers. no. It is a link between two personnel numbers. An employee hired in two positions may have two different personnel numbers with many separate infotype records. However, the reference personnel number allows the employee to share certain infotypes, such as Personal Data.
Region  "This is the state or territory that an employee resides in, has previously worked in.
Regular Payroll Run Scheduled payroll processing.
Re-hire  This is an action to bring back an employee to State employment after a previous termination or resignation, or an employee who has been rehired.
Related Object  This is an object in Organizational Management that is linked to another object, such as a job to a position or a position to an organizational unit.
Relationship type/ relationship  This describes how two objects are linked together, such as a reporting relationship.
Reminder Date  This is the date on which the system will remind a user (via report) that a specific period is expiring or a record needs to be updated.
Remuneration Statement  This is a customized report that lists all payments and deductions for employees. Personal or general notifications for employees can be included.
Report Variant A report variant is a group of selection criteria that has been saved.
Reporting Period This is the time frame in which data entry was created and stored.
Residence status  The employee's residence status in the United States is listed as either a permanent resident or alien.
Resignation  This is a voluntary separation from employment with the State of Washington.
Retirement  This field defines if the employee's position is eligible to receive retirement benefits.
Reversal reason  This is a description of the reason that the warrant should be cancelled.
Role  This is a collection of activities that a person performs in HRMS. A person is assigned to a role to grant transactional access in HRMS.
Rule Non-exempt This is a description of the rule for determining disposable earnings

SAP This is the software that provides HR business processing for the State of Washington.
 SAP-HCM SAP ERP Human Capital Management (SAP ERP HCM) is a comprehensive, integrated human resources management solution that delivers unmatched global capability.
Schema  This is a program that stores rules for calculating payroll.
Search Criteria The parameters with which a search query is created and a search performed.
Searchable VS Non-Searchable Searchable are parameters with which a search query is created and a search is performed. A Non-Searchable would be EEO information. Do not search on EEO information.
Seniority This measures the last period of unbroken time served. It is determined by positions of classified service, and handled under the jurisdiction of the board or the director.
Separation  It is a separation of employment with the State of Washington.
SeqNo of garn orders  This is associated with the number of garnishment orders that exist for the employee.
Service type  This defines what type of service a state employee is performing (i.e. seasonal, temporary, in-training, etc.).
Session A session begins when a user logs on to the SAP system. The first session begins with the Easy Access screen, where the user can navigate to or launch transactions.
You can have multiple sessions (six) on the same client simultaneously, for example, one to create a sales order and one to display a sales order. Each session occurs within a separate window.
Shadow system  This is an external State system that must be maintained separately of HRMS. Data may or may not pass between the systems via interfaces.
Short text This is a field associated with some objects that stores a brief description.
Simulation It is a type of pre-balance functionality that is used to check for missing infotypes that would hinder the payroll run from processing.
Since This is the date on which something started, such as an infotype began.
SSN/Tax-ID This is an employee's social security number or government-assigned tax ID number.
Standard Queries  Standard queries are canned queries where the report criteria are already pre-defined. You cannot change the report criteria for standard queries.
Start date  This is the date on which a record begins.
Start Time This is the date that an action is effective.
Status This allows you to track and define whether the garnishment will run through payroll.
Status History List containing all the status changes of an object. It contains the current status, the status reason, the user who set the status, and the date.

Street/House no. This is the residential street address of an employee.
STy This is a way to further define the data being stored on an infotype. Only certain infotypes have subtypes. 
Subarea  It is a sub-division of the personnel area which helps define pay scale  structures and group employees for payroll and time processing rules.
Sub-process  This is a grouping of activities performed in order to execute a business process.
Subtype  This is a way to further define the data being stored on an infotype. Only certain infotypes have subtypes.
Supervisor  This is the person to whom an employee directly reports.
Supplemental method Refers to an alternative method of calculating withholding taxes for a specified tax authority.

Target Abs. quota  This is the Absence Quota (Leave Type) that an employee donates too (Shared Leave Quota) or receives back (the quota that he donated from).
Task This is a single step within an activity
Task Type  A task type is a relevant task that an HRMS user would be expected to perform.
Tax Company Agency four-character designation used for reporting purposes. Each such designation is assigned a distinct Employer Identification Number (EIN) and is mapped to a tax company for tax calculation purposes.
Tax Exempt lndicator  This allows the user to identify a tax type from which the employee is exempt from paying.
Tax Reporter    The name of the transaction code PU19, which is used to create quarterly and annual tax forms.
Temporary  This is a status of the person or position. It denotes that the person or position is temporary within the organization.
Termination  This is a separation of employment with the State of Washington.
Test Run (no update) This is an indicator that allows a test run of the program to be processed without updating any results tables.
Text  This is a field that allows a longer description of an entry to be stored.
 Time Administrator The time data administrator is responsible for the employees assigned to him or her.
Time evaluation This is part of Release 3 functionality; time evaluation is a program that provides payroll with working times and absence times to be paid by comparing the attendance and absence information entered by employees against work schedules and company-internal, contractual, and collective agreement provisions set up in the HRMS. Time evaluation also updates quota balances and time accounts (cumulated hours of various types of recorded time).
Time management This is the collection of payroll related data to support distribution of labor and tracking quotas and their balances.
Time Mgmt status This is part of the work schedule that an employee is assigned to and signifies how hours are calculated based on the employee's assigned work schedule.

Time quota  This is a time interval during which an employee is allowed to be at work or absent under certain circumstances.
Time quota type  It is a record that holds the amount of quota to which an employee is entitled.
Time spec   In its truest form, it is used only in Time Evaluation. The Time Specification infotype, however, is being used at the State of Washington to track military service time.
Time wage type  It is a wage type that is used only for the storage of time data.
to (End Date) It specifies the end date of a record, transaction, or search.

User name  This is the username of the person used to run the report.

Validity  The validity period is defined as beginning on the start date and ending on the end date.
Vendor  This is the payee for the garnishment.
Vendor system It is a system set up through the Treasurer’s office that will enable authorized personnel to contact DIS who will then contact the Treasurer’s office to issue and distribute payment to agency vendors and/or State employees the same day.
Veteran Status  This indicates if an employee served in the armed forces and if so, their current status.
Void Reason Code  This is the code used to describe the reason that the warrant should be cancelled.

Workflow Automatically creates activities and correspondence for applications or assignments, integrating tasks across departments, applications, and system boundaries.
Working week This is part of the work schedule that an employee is assigned to and signifies on which day the employee's scheduled work week begins.
