Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the governor’s emergency directives, the 1500 Jefferson Building in Olympia, which houses four state agencies and serves as the headquarters for three, is closed to the public effective March 25.
Operations of the three agencies headquartered in the 1500 Jefferson Building include the Department of Enterprise Services (DES), the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF), and Washington Technology Solutions (WaTech). Staff from the Office of Financial Management (OFM) is also located in the building. In addition, the building hosts a training center for state employees and a public cafeteria. The cafeteria will be closed until Monday, March 30 and will operate on a take-out-only basis from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Its closure may be extended.
While staff can still have access to the building with their badges, only essential personnel (those whose jobs require them to be physically on-site) should be coming to the building.
