Matt King is a Privacy & Data Protection Manager in Washington’s Office of Privacy and Data Protection, within Washington Technology Solutions (WaTech). He drives and manages enterprise privacy initiatives to help state agencies effectively handle and protect the personal information they collect about the people they serve. He is leading the development of state AI risk assessment tools and processes and chairs the state’s AI Community of Practice Risk Subcommittee.

Join us to watch a conversation with Peter Winn, Acting Chief Privacy and Civil Liberties Officer of the U.S. Department of Justice. Mr. Winn will be interviewed by Matt King, a current Privacy and Data Protection Manager with the state and a former student in Mr. Winn’s privacy law class. The conversation will cover the meaning of privacy, how concepts of privacy have changed over time, the role of privacy in maintaining public trust, and parallels in how we implement privacy in state and federal government.
