Intent of the Dictionary
The intent of the Washington State Technology Dictionary is to establish a common technology vocabulary based on standardized terms and definitions for use when discussing technology outside of an agency.
Intended Use
While agencies are not required to use these terms and definitions internally, uniform adoption within agencies is encouraged.

Dictionary Governance
Terms and definitions related to policies and standards are approved by the Technology Services Board via the established policy and standards governance process.
Terms and definitions not related to a policy or standard are vetted by chartered workgroups.
