Season's Greetings to all as we wrap-up another year!
This has been another exciting year for privacy learning and program maturity in the state of Washington. The Office of Privacy and Data Protection offered webinars on a range of important privacy topics this year and being a fan of the "Spotify Wrapped" feature (yes, I know it's collecting my data) I have decided to list our 2022 webinars by most views. So here is "OPDP Wrapped 2022." I encourage all to go to our website to watch or revisit any of our recorded webinars on these important privacy topics.

Gearing up for 2023
January 28 is International Privacy Day. This year we will be recognizing the occasion with a slew of events and webinars during the week of January 23 to January 27. Plans include tips and tricks for consumer privacy, presentations on breach trends in the state, recommendations on privacy policy, other issues with privacy intrusive technologies, and another fun Kahoot! Quiz. This year we will even have an Amazon gift card for the winner! So, mark your calendar for the week and watch for our communication on events early next year!
Digital Equity Presentation
I had the pleasure of joining a panel discussion on digital equity at the December 6 IPMA Digital Equity event. The entire day was chock-full of presentations on tackling digital equity, inclusion and literacy. Visit the IPMA website for event materials. OPDP also received feedback that this is a topic of interest for 2023 webinars, which we are happy to include in the coming year.
If you have other webinar topics of interest you would like to hear from our office on, please let use know! You can email us at privacy@watech.wa.gov.
Warmest wishes for happy holidays! See you next year with more updates from our office!
