WaTech's IT strategic planning workshops a success

WaTech hosted seven in-person enterprise IT strategic planning workshops in March and invited over 80 agencies and 120 business and IT leaders. The goal was to generate diverse insights and ideas emphasizing how technology enables the state's work to support residents and customers.

Overall, 62 agencies were represented at the workshops and 100 business and IT leaders were in attendance, generation more than 2,500 ideas.

As this phase of work wraps up, WaTech's Strategic Advisory Group members will continue to review and identify key stakeholders (e.g., local government and tribes) to engage with separately from the core in-person workshops.

Identified individuals and groups can provide valuable strategic insights through the Enterprise IT Strategic Planning webpage and online feedback link until April 12.

What comes next?

WaTech's consulting partner, Star Insights, is analyzing critical learnings up to this point of the enterprise IT strategic planning process and creating individual workshop summaries.

The next workshop, on May 23 from 1-3 p.m., will pivot to an engagement approach that brings all functional groups together to encourage an enterprise view on strategic goals and the future strategic plan.

HHS Attendees

All business and IT leaders invited will be able to review and validate their input and ideas. These leaders will additionally draft their recommended strategic goals for the future Washington State Enterprise IT Strategic Plan.

Thank you to everyone for your engagement! We are excited for the next phase of our collaboration to reimagine our future.
