The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) has refreshed its open data offerings with new estimates of persons with disabilities or other support needs by Census tract. The data were prepared for DSHS and the Department of Health (DOH) to assist in emergency preparedness planning for Washington communities.
The data show a variety of challenges faced by residents, such as ambulatory difficulty, hearing difficulty, self-care difficulty, disabilities + poverty, households without a car, seniors living alone, and many others. The estimates are available for all ages, youth (under 18 years of age), adults (ages 18 to 64 years), and seniors (ages 65 years or more); they include counts, margins of error of counts, percentages, and margins of error of percentages for each variable.
