Employment Security replaces aging computer system

The Employment Security Department has successfully replaced a nearly 30-year-old computer system that processes unemployment taxes.

The modern system features:

  • Fast and efficient data processing.
  • Intuitive user interfaces and automated workflow.
  • Powerful reporting tools.
  • State-of-the art security and reliability.
  • ADA compliance (Section 508).
  • Flexibility to adapt to future changes in law.

The second phase of the project will replace the computer system that processes unemployment-benefit claims. The two phases will integrate to form a unified Unemployment Tax & Benefits (UTAB) computer system.

Commissioner Dale Peinecke signs off on deployment of the new system. He's accompanied by (back row) Project Director Abhilash Kuzhikat, CIO Lisa Marsh and (front left) Deputy Commissioner Nan Thomas.
