About GIS Day
Joint Agency GIS Day is a forum for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) professionals to share GIS solutions that are transforming data management, customer service, decision making, and much more! It's also an opportunity for GIS professionals to highlight and celebrate their awesome work.
We are excited to be back together and are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all attendees. Masks will be optional in the main conference room, and we encourage physical distancing whenever possible. Refer to the FAQs section of the agenda for additional health and safety precautions.

2024 Call for Nominations:
Government Helping Government Award
Presented by the WaTech and WAGISA
We all know that person who goes over and above normal job duties, assisting others with technical issues, extra time for phone calls and answering endless questions. Here is an opportunity as a GIS community to recognize those extraordinary individuals.
Nomination Criteria:
- The individual is with a government organization (state, county, local, federal or tribal) who is assisting another WA government agency.
- The time/ work performed is not part of the person’s normal job duties (meaning there is no additional compensation for completing the work and no requirement per se that they assist).
- Must be nominated by November 4th.
Please send nominations or questions to joanne.markert@watech.wa.gov (WaTech) and wggl@wagisa.org (WAGISA). Include description of the work that was done this past year (since January 2024), why you are nominating them and how they have gone above and beyond.
A selected individual will be announced at the Joint Agency GIS Day Event. Award will be mailed if they are unable to attend.
