- Organizational staffing: The ECCP hired a Cloud BI/Data Analyst in February 2023. Welcome Lucy Pick!
- The Cloud Center of Excellence Portal & Content: A prototype was released in February. Content is under development. WaTech is in the process of moving the prototype to the state SharePoint Tenant.
- The Network and Security Cloud Assessment project: An final presentation was made to the WaTech management team in March. The presentation included a series of findings and recommendations for the state to consider.
- IBM Cloud Security Architecture: This project, which focused on approved security patterns in architecture, has been completed. Five domains are covered, including: Backup & Recovery, Identity Access Management (IAM), Logging & Monitoring, and Network and Storage.
- Cloud Capability Model (CCM): The team reviewed the enterprise cloud prioritization and is continuing to examine prototype capabilities. This is a key part of the state’s foundational cloud strategy, which aims to create a statewide framework to coordinate and accelerate cloud migrations.
NOTICE: As of June 6, 2024, WaTech has formally adopted its name change, eliminating CTS and OCIO.
In 2024, the Legislature passed SHB 1947, which eliminated the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and incorporated all duties and responsibilities to Washington Technology Solutions (WaTech), as well as renamed the agency from Consolidated Technology Services (CTS) to WaTech. Previous references to the OCIO or CTS should be understood to refer to WaTech.
