Washington state IT projects selected as finalists for 2016 NASCIO Awards

The National Association of State CIOs (NASCIO) recently announced that two Washington state projects have been selected as finalists for State IT Recognition Awards:

  • Special CIO Recognition Award category
    Office of the Chief Information Officer: Washington State Employer of Choice
  • Digital Government: Government to Business category
    Department of Labor and Industries: Health Information Exchange

On behalf of the state of Washington, WaTech submitted eight nominations for the 2016 NASCIO awards. The nominations represented a range of business areas including education, transportation, health care, public safety, natural resources, and technology.

"These prestigious national awards honor innovation and excellence in the use of information technology in state government," said WaTech Chief of Staff Connie Michener.

Award winners will be announced at the NASCIO Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida this September.
