I’m honored and grateful to receive an AI 50 award by the Center for Public Sector AI for my leadership on responsible AI in Washington state. Responsible AI adoption is a multidisciplinary effort and I’m proud to share this award with the hard work of many in the state and public sector technology community.
Specifically I want to thank Nick Stowe, Matthew King, Chaney Curry, James Galvin, and the AI Community of Practice members for their enthusiasm and engagement as we navigate adoption of AI in Washington.
I also want to thank the AI Policy subcommittee members for their time, hard work, and spirited debate! This includes Ralph Hogaboom, Derek Puckett, Eleonor B., Sarah Carrier, Rachel W., Jason Craypo, Emily Kok, Marie Finn, Daniel Hypes, and Angela Kleis as well as Nick, Matt, and Chaney!
And last but not least, thanks to State CIO Bill Kehoe for his support of both innovation and principled use of AI.
August Webinar: Privacy and the Public Records Act
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our August OPDP webinar as we dove into privacy and the public records act (PRA). The webinar covered some of the basics of the PRA, the context for privacy in the PRA and details regarding specific privacy considerations of medical data, trends, and other public policy considerations. You can watch the recording or view the slide deck, both of which are available on our website.
IPMA Empowering Women Leaders in Technology Event
It was great to see so many fantastic leaders and allies at the IPMA women in technology event held at St. Martin’s earlier this month. I learned so much from my fellow panel members and colleagues and felt inspired to hear from so many brilliant women in tech. I can’t wait to continue to build on the momentum and support that was shared with such enthusiasm to keep up the sharing and collaboration needed in this space.
Thanks, and see you next month with more updates!
