Monitor In-flight Projects
WaTech monitors all major IT projects while they are underway. Oversight activities vary based on project type, the strength of project management and the level of risk. The goal is to track project health, spot early warning signs and support agencies if issues arise.
How WaTech Provides Oversight
WaTech’s project oversight consultants:
- Stay in regular contact with project staff
- Review project plans, reports and other documentation
- Participate in key activities, including steering committee meetings, iterative product demonstrations and other leadership meetings.
This hands-on approach helps identify risks early and supports agencies in making needed adjustments.
Role of the Technology Services Board (TSB)
The TSB also plays a role in oversight, focusing on major enterprise-level projects that have broad statewide impact.
Transparency Through the State IT Project Dashboard
The State IT Project Dashboard makes key project information and critical documents public such as:
- Project charters
- Status reports
- Quality assurance reviews
- Project health assessments
The dashboard increases transparency and serves as a monitoring tool for WaTech and the public.
Project Closeout
After a project is fully implemented and moves into regular operations, agencies complete a closeout report, including lessons learned.
