December 2024 Privacy Points

Season’s Greetings! It’s time for Privacy Webinars Wrapped!

What a year it’s been for privacy! As 2024 comes to a close, it’s amazing to look back and see everything we’ve accomplished together. From new trainings to thought-provoking conversations, we’ve taken big steps forward in maturing privacy practices across the state.

One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of is the adoption of the enterprise Privacy and Data Protection Policy — a major achievement that underscores how far we’ve come as a state. It’s no surprise that the webinar on this policy is one of the most-watched sessions of the year!

As we wrap-up another active year in privacy, much like “Spotify Wrapped” I have included this year’s top 10 most watched privacy webinars.  Whether you’re catching-up or revisiting a favorite, these sessions are packed with great insights and expertise. Check them out!

OPDP Four-Year Performance Report

Speaking of accomplishments, we are thrilled to be sharing the Office of Privacy and Data Protection’s Performance Report. We have a lot of metrics to be proud including more than 15,000 views of the Privacy Basics training as well as several other published resources. A huge thank you to my stellar team—Matt, Sofiya, and Zack—whose hard work and dedication made this incredible, award-winning, privacy program possible. Thanks as well to our phenomenal privacy community in Washington for your engagement and efforts!

Privacy Week!

Next month we will be celebrating Privacy Week from January 27 to January 31! This year we will have a presentation from the Future of Privacy Forum and are partnering with the City of Seattle for an in-person event, as well as other games, videos, and activities. Watch for more information about upcoming webinars and events in the new year!

Take care and happy holidays!
