Stage 8 Exit Criteria

Notice: applying this to your agency.

The IT Project Resources are not meant to replace your agency’s internal project management practices or prescribe how you must operate. Instead, they offer concepts and tools that can strengthen delivery by providing a scalable framework for project level coordination. All project documentation should be maintained throughout each stage in alignment with agency policies and, where applicable, WaTech requirements and oversight expectations.

Completion of Stage 8 confirms that the solution has been successfully deployed into the production environment and that the organization has transitioned into initial operational support with stability and confidence. Cutover activities have been executed, users are trained, support structures are active, and the system is functioning as expected under live conditions.

At this point, the initiative has:

  • Completed end‑user training and validated readiness across all impacted groups.
  • Confirmed that production environments are secure, stable, and fully prepared for ongoing operations.
  • Executed the approved cutover plan and validated that deployment checkpoints were met.
  • Activated help desk, support teams, and command center operations for monitoring and escalation.
  • Distributed go‑live communications and ensured consistent messaging across agencies and stakeholders.
  • Submitted QA certification and secured sponsor approval to proceed with deployment.
  • Validated system performance, integrations, and data behavior in the live environment.
  • Confirmed that agency‑level and enterprise‑level readiness activities are complete and aligned.
  • Documented early issues, risks, and mitigation actions, with RAIDc entries updated accordingly.
  • Captured lessons learned from deployment and early stabilization activities.

This transition marks a point where the initiative moves from deployment into sustained operations and stabilization. With the solution live, support structures activated, and users operating in the new environment, the organization is prepared to enter Stage 9, where long‑term performance monitoring, optimization, and operational maturity take center stage.
