State leaders and industry partners came together on April 14Drupal Training Handbook
, 2026 at St. Martin's University for the Washington IT Industry Forum, a full-day event focused on collaboration, innovation, and practical problem solving. Nearly 300 people attended the event.
The day opened with a keynote from State CIO Bill Kehoe, who spoke about modernization with purpose and the role of partnerships in driving meaningful progress. He emphasized that technology investments must stay grounded in outcomes for residents and that strong collaboration between agencies and industry is essential to delivering better, more consistent services across the state.
The Forum created space for meaningful connection and shared learning. An expanded two-hour networking session gave attendees time to connect directly with peers and partners, exchange ideas, and build relationships that support ongoing work across agencies.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted from discussion to action. Attendees participated in interactive tabletop workshops designed to tackle real-world business and technology issues facing the state. Topics included Medicaid and SNAP requirements, permitting, and design review processes.
Working in small, facilitated groups, participants explored challenges from multiple angles, including policy impacts, outreach strategies, and technology solutions. The sessions encouraged open dialogue and practical thinking, with each group sharing ideas and next steps with the full audience.
The workshops highlighted a common theme: agencies across the state are working through similar challenges, and there is strong value in coming together to share lessons learned and explore solutions collaboratively.
The Washington IT Industry Forum reflects WaTech’s ongoing commitment to strengthening partnerships and supporting agencies with opportunities to connect, learn, and solve problems together. The ideas and relationships built during the event will help inform future efforts to improve service delivery for Washington residents.
WaTech thanks all who attended and contributed to a productive and engaging day.
