S6: Workflow Validation

Notice: applying this to your agency.

The IT Project Resources are not meant to replace your agency’s internal project management practices or prescribe how you must operate. Instead, they offer concepts and tools that can strengthen delivery by providing a scalable framework for project level coordination. All project documentation should be maintained throughout each stage in alignment with agency policies and, where applicable, WaTech requirements and oversight expectations.

Conduct walkthroughs of key system workflows to validate business logic, data exchanges, routing, approvals, and user interactions.

For Programs:

Validate enterprise workflows and confirm alignment with cross‑agency processes. Ensure workflows support operational needs and enterprise integration standards.

For Programs with Agency‑Led Sub‑Projects:

Agencies validate local workflows, routing, approvals, and integration points. Enterprise team confirms consistency and readiness across all agencies.

For Projects:

Validate project‑specific workflows and confirm alignment with requirements and configuration.

This is a good time to be mindful of the progress you have made to date and perform these tasks in conjunction with:

  • Updated Requirements Traceability Matrix: Refreshed to reflect validated configuration and workflows.
  • Data Conversion Dry Run Results: Captured during preliminary migration testing to validate accuracy and completeness.
  • Sponsor Review Memo: Formal sign-off confirming readiness to proceed to full-scale testing.
