The Washington State Geospatial Program Office endeavors to provide open data leadership, guidance, policy direction, and oversight within the Washington State government. The office works closely with GIS departments throughout Washington state agencies to provide both partners and constituents with the geospatial information they require to make informed decisions.
Striving to Harness the Power of Where, the GPO provides:
- Access point for the Washington Geospatial Open Data Portal (geo.wa.gov).
- Support for statewide geospatial initiatives, such as Location Based Orthoimagery Services and Washington Master Addressing Service (WAMAS).
- Guidance and support for agency collaboration.
- Statewide spatial governance, policy, and planning through the joint efforts of the Geographic Information Technology (GIT) Committee.
