The WaTech Strong Authentication service verifies user identity with a two-part authentication process. It uses one item users know – a PIN – and one item that users have – a token to provide a one-time password. This provides a much stronger and more reliable level of authentication than a password.

This service can be used to verify the identity of users who access a variety of agency applications or resources, such as:

  • Web applications.
  • Wireless access points.
  • Routers and switches.
  • Virtual private networks (VPNs).

The token generates a unique pattern of digits that change every minute to generate the one-time code. Tokens are available to customers either as a physical hardware device that can be carried on a keychain or lanyard, or as a software application that can be installed on a supported mobile workstation or smartphone.

Features/Benefits: 

  • Tokens are available as software tokens or as physical key fobs.
  • Software tokens are available as applications on Windows, iPhone, and Android operating systems.

Pricing: 

The Strong Authentication service is billed monthly as a rated subscription service. Billing occurs only in the months when services are provided.

  • Hardware token / $17.45 per month.
  • Software/mobile token / $9.00 per month.

Pre-service requirements

To obtain services from WaTech, eligible organizations must first enter into a Master Service Agreement (MSA). See if you qualify for an MSA.

Contact the WaTech Support Center to schedule an overview of the service or to request the service.  The WaTech team will work with you to define your requirements and develop a plan for onboarding and implementation.
